Our Little Oyster Farm is Getting Big Love Across the Pond

This one’s wild to say out loud… Nauti Sisters Sea Farm was featured in the May 2025 issue of National Geographic Traveller UK!

Yup — our tiny but mighty oyster farm got a full shoutout in one of the world’s most iconic travel magazines, in their roundup of the best food experiences in Portland, Maine. We’re still pinching ourselves.

The piece dives into Portland’s culinary scene and working waterfront — and tucked between mentions of iconic spots like Harbor Fish Market and Hot Suppa, you’ll find us: hauling cages on a chilly morning, cracking oysters open on the bow, and sharing the story of how three sisters ended up farming shellfish together.

Writer Zoey Goto calls us a “small but mighty micro-oyster venture,” and we love that. The article captures a typical morning: Amy pulling up gear, Alicia captaining the boat, Chelsea jumping in when she’s home — all of us focused on farming good oysters and connecting people to where their food comes from.

“Not your typical Maine fisherman”

One of our favorite lines from the article?

“Young, female, sporting on-trend outdoorsy gear and — ironically — allergic to shellfish.”

Honestly… fair. Oyster farming isn’t always glamorous. It’s muddy, cold, gear-heavy, and unpredictable — and we love every second of it.

To be featured alongside legends like Fore Street, Mr. Tuna, Twelve, and Hot Suppa is an honor. Thank you to National Geographic Traveller for recognizing the magic of Maine — and the salty, muddy, unforgettable work behind every oyster we raise.

This recognition isn’t just about us — it’s about how special Maine’s coast is. It’s about the people, the place, and the food that brings it all together.
