Nauti Sisters Sea Farm was recently featured on Only in Portland, Maine — a show celebrating the people and places that make the Portland area one of a kind. The episode is streaming free on the Very Local app.
About the Episode
The episode follows three Maine stories. Brant & Cochran in South Portland revives Maine’s axe-making heritage with hand-forged tools. Bondeko is a multicultural musical group blending global traditions in Maine. And Nauti Sisters Sea Farm — three sisters from Yarmouth who built a sustainable oyster farm and tour business from the ground up.
The episode goes out on the water with us. It shows what the farm looks like up close and digs into what it means to build something with your own hands on Maine’s working waterfront.
What It Captures
Nauti Sisters founder Alicia Gaiero speaks in the episode about turning down a graduate school fellowship to start the farm. Since then the business has grown significantly — both in production and in the experiences it offers guests on Casco Bay.
Being included alongside other Maine makers and builders is an honor. It reflects the values that drive everything we do here — hard work, community, and a genuine connection to this coast.
